A brief insight.
My name is Rob Leys, I left school in the late eighties having designs on being a professional golfer, reaching a very good standard at an early age, representing numerous clubs and winning many junior/adult tournaments.
Working as the assistant to the professional for 2 years, I had a great experience, but the dream was shortlived and never progressed, to this day it remains an enjoyable pasttime.
I then went on to work for numerous haulage companies, working long hours and various unsociable shifts for many years, finally in 2002 I received redundancy.
Having been a care car enthusiast since my father first introduced me to various polishes and waxes, with the intention of transforming my oxidised red mkII Escort, spending many hours and evenings locked away polishing parts that would probably never be seen, other than for my own satisfaction, this soon progressed with family and friends wanting the same treatment for their own cars.
With a passion for all things automotive, I decided to make a go of running my own business, it seemed a natural choice to go with car valeting, after all a racing driver was always a little far fetched!!!
In 2003 I started trading under the name Gleammachine, offering a bespoke valeting service, taking on all manner of vehicles, learning my trade through experience and dealing with all kinds of eventualities.
To date, I have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people and having worked on some outstanding vehicles, no matter whether they may be a supercar, showcar or someone's pride and joy, the same passion and enthusiasm remains.

On first impressions my prices may seem expensive compared to a typical valeting service, but the time and meticulous attention that is put into every process, and the finish achieved is directly driven from a passion for obtaining optimum results, through many years of experience.
It is often thought that the only possible alternative to restoring the finish to a dull and jaded looking vehicle would be a costly respray, when taking into account the prices charged for this service by a recognised bodyshop, which is often rushed and left with an unlevel finish.

As my detailing services incorporate many processes and all work carried out is given the utmost care and attention, this can be time consuming and depending on the condition of the vehicle and stage of detail required, may run into more than 1 day, of which the customer will be notified of upon quotation.
I am proud to have prepared vehicles for shows, car clubs, photo shoots and enthusiasts alike and find it highly rewarding seeing the customers face light up once they have seen the results achieved.
